| A man’s breast development starts at the age of 12-15, when
the breasts start to balloon, and this change is known as “Natural
Gynecomastia”. This process stops after 1-2 years. Gynecomastia, in some instances, can be attributed to some form of neoplasm, syndrome or the use of certain medication. For these reasons all cases must be examined along with the medical history, clinical and laboratory tests. How does it look? Gynecomastia appears either as a small increase of the glandular tissue or as the overdevelopment of the breasts due to excess fat and soft skin, “woman’s breasts”. Surgery If excessive glandular tissue and fat are the main causes then the surgeon makes a small incision on the edge of the areola with a view to removing both glandular tissue and fat. Both techniques leave inconspicuous scars. In cases where gynecomastia is very large the treatment is slightly different. After the surgery Usually candidates can return to their home on the following morning but some prefer on the same day. We advise to wear a special garment to help reduce swelling. Exercise is allowed after 3 weeks. |
